The Photographer: Stefania Ferrarese Romoff

My fascination with nature has always been part of me; its colors, its forms, its perfect imperfections. My first camera in hand, I found the thrill of capturing and framing nature's ever-changing beauty - not to own the moment - just to remember it. Today, the joy and excitement of discovery is still strong and the journey continues.

I was born in Milan, Italy and moved to the United States in the late '90s. I've always loved to travel, learn about other cultures, discover different natural habitats - the camera my constant companion. But I didn't think of myself as a photographer. I was merely a traveler, an observer. Then life brought me to Antigua and Barbuda where nature is front and center, full of contrasts and strength. There my passion became my profession.

When I am not photographing my cats or nature's beauty, I volunteer my time at Animal Friends, the Western Pennsylvania no-kill companion animal resource center where my four 'Furry Musketeers' came from. It is in honor of my cats - Bea, Isa, Kiefer and Jack - that a portion of sale proceeds will be donated to Animal Friends, to support its lifesaving mission and programs.
